Monday (8/24):
- Teacher Introductions
- Getting acquainted with the Schoology platform and typing.com.
- Homework Assignment: On Schoology, tell Mr. Bendana your personal story. Use the guiding questions if you cannot think of anything.
- Beginning of the year procedures, both eLearning and on-campus.
- COVID-19 procedures.
- Submit your personal story on Schoology by 11:59PM.
- Students will have begun creating and organizing their interactive notebook (blue folder with prongs and notebook paper).
- Discuss what an inference is, how to properly create one and how to properly recognize one.
- Watch the assigned video under "Days 3 & 4". Students will participate in a discussion post for homework. Must submit by 11:59PM on Thursday.
- Students will continue the discussion on inference.
- Students will then learn the difference between implicit and explicit evidence and how to recognize either.
- If time permits, students will be introduced to "All Summer in a Day" by Ray Bradbury.
- Homework Assignment: Submit by 11:59PM your discussion post--commentary on the video and response to one of your peer's.
- Students will write the vocabulary words in their interactive notebook.
- Students will begin a read-aloud of "All Summer in a Day".
- Students will need to finish their reading of "All Summer in a Day" by following Mr. Bendana's pre-recorded video.
- Homework: Answer two comprehension questions on the story.
